RE KEVIN GILMORE
Barnard Contracts UK Ltd engaged Kevin Gilmore in February 2013 after recommendation from a third party
builder’s QS to act for the company in a dispute with a main contractor. The writer had not met Kevin Gilmore prior
to the appointment and the case in hand was fairly complex and the main contractor had not paid BC UK Ltd any
monies due since 30thNovember 2012.
During the course of the contractual dispute the main contractor attempted to determine our subcontract but Mr
Gilmore was able to challenge their determination and as such the negotiations became easier.
The writer eventually accepted a settlement in the dispute in mid June 2014 and the settlement was paid 7 days later.
There is no doubt that without Kevin Gilmore’s appointment the dispute would never have been resolved and BC UK
Ltd would have walked away with no financial recompense whatsoever.
Kevin Gilmore was diligent, thorough and approachable throughout the 4 month period of the contractual dispute
and offered an insight to the situation that BC UK Ltd or the writer was unable to.
Mr Gilmore has since offered free advice to this company in another matter as a complete courtesy.
In addition we found Mr Gilmore’s fee structure to be very reasonable in a difficult climate.
Finally, we would not hesitate to endorse or recommend Kevin Gilmore to any other party or client in these
contractual matters/disputes.

We engaged GCQS on our last domestic renovation/extension in Rathfarnham. They prepared an initial pre planning cost plan, prepared  tender documents, vetted the incoming tenders and advised on which tender to accept.

During construction, they advised on interim valuations / payments, and also agreed the final account with the contractor.
